Frequently asked questions

Email hosting allows you to send and receive emails from your own domain name, rather than having to use external providers such as @gmail.com or @outlook.com.

This will increase your credibility towards your stakeholders immediately. You can imagine yourself: getting an email from a @gmail.com account looks much less professional than getting one from a custom domain.

The maximum number of email addresses (or "mailboxes") depends on the plan you select.

Our cheapest plan, the Starter plan, comes with a maximum of 5 mailboxes while our Expert plan offers an unlimited amount of mailboxes.

How many domains you can host depends on the plan you select.

Our Starter plan allows for a maximum of 3 domains, while our Expert plan offers an unlimited amount of domains.

Of course! We actually don't differentiate between email hosting and web hosting plans: they're all the same plans. This is the easiest solution for you, as you will probably also want to host a website for the domain you're using to email with.

Creating a new email address is very simple: you will get access to an admin panel, on which you can easily provide the email address you want to create and its password, click on "create" and you're done!

We don't calculate storage on a per-address basis. Rather, every plan has a maximum total storage which you can decide how to use: between files for webhosting, databases or email addresses. Each individual email address doesn't have a limit itself, as long as it all fits in your total storage quota.

We've made this as simple as possible for you. In your email client, such as Outlook, on your computer, phone or tablet, go to settings and add a new account. Select IMAP/POP3. Enter the email address you want to connect to and your password. That's it! It should now automatically connect.

If it is a newly created domain, the right DNS records may not have been propogated to the internet yet in which case you may need to wait up to a day.

In case it still doesn't work, you may need to specify the server information yourself. This is pretty simple: go back to your email client and add a new email account. Click "advanced settings" or "manual settings" and specify the incoming mail server as "mail.yourdomain.com" and port as "993", and outgoing mail server as "mail.yourdomain.com" and port "587". If it still doesn't work, don't hesistate to reach out to our helpdesk.

Yes, you can! If you already own a domain name and you don't want to transfer it to Satonda, you can just point the domain's DNS records to your server's public IP address to connect them.

Similarly, you can buy a domain name through Satonda and point it another server if you already have a hosting solution in place.
